Started in 2009 by Ms. Kitai Saeko, KotoKottoN is a koto ensemble based in Singapore, with weekly practices even through the university holidays. While Ms. Kitai is a Japanese language teacher at the Centre for Language Studies, NUS, she is also a qualified teacher from the Sawai Koto School (沢井箏曲院).

KotoKottoN is constantly looking for new members who are interested in learning the instrument. Registration and lessons are absolutely free of charge for all NUS students. However, as with any subject you take, we hope that interested parties can commit to practice twice a week.

If you’re interested to join us, please fill out THIS FORM. Feel free to ask us any questions at nus.kotokotton@gmail.com. You can take a look at our FAQ first too.

If you’re interested in the instrument, you can drop by our practices! Click on Practices or visit our Facebook page to find out more.
